I haven't seen anyone define the center here, or challenge my basic definitions of what the opinion polls say about swing voters' current positions.

All I hear is that this is NOT the center, followed by a hint or admission that the person telling us how unbalanced we are is not from the center themselves, but clearly favors one party all the time, be it Republican, Democratic or Libertarian.

I'd love to see a good debate that tells us more about the center - who they are, what they believe in, who they support nowadays?

I would never have considered you a centrist, E.
Not to worry:-)

I'm certain there's been no explicit definition of centrist or the center--- on this thread. My point is that any notion of "center" has to be defined by the end boundaries of left and right. Or so it would appear.

In terms of where the implicit boundaries seem to be, it's my impression that what passes for center here is actually to
the left of center. JMO.

As for "syndromes" and propaganda.

Hmm.

It's all propaganda, E. That's what politics has become. Sound bytes and brainwashing through repetition of the same
notions over and over until they become "true" by dint of repetition.

Syndromes suffered by both sides are an outgrowth.
Garbage in. Garbage out.
Knee jerk reaction to same stimulus.
Cause and effect.
Sheeple.

The central element is lack of critical assessment and we see it at both ends of the political spectrum,
even as the ends approach the middle.

So, while you may take umbrage at the term "BDS", the reality is that it aptly describes some people.
Not sure what the corollary term is for the other side of the spectrum, but there are those similarly afflicted.
