I wonder if the White House would have backed away from the banner they produced and paid for if the story in Iraq had actually followed the script they had in mind for it.

How come those skills are only selectively applied?<g>

I'm the first to agree that all politicians and political machines spin and do what they can to mislead, etc.

And yeah, maybe there was a disconnect between the visual
and the words of the speech.

But if you read the words, in context, you can see that the reference is being made to conclusion of major combat operations (that's where the 'prevail' comes in )
and that there is a long haul ahead.

Were you and E mislead by the speech? Did you think the war was over and the troops were coming home in a week or two?<g>
