housing is slightly more important to the economy than airlines.

What does a bunch of rich bankers flying around have to do with what I said.

Look at it another way:
20% of the people are much better off in thos recovery
10% of the people are doing OK
70% of the people are doing much worse and a substantial portion of those are in serious trouble IMO.

Play with those numbers to your satisfaction but median wages have dropped in this recovery.

That is far more significant than plane traffic if you ask me.
Besides part of plane traffic is better scheduling and smarter actions by airlines.
