This has been explored here on this thread several times. Searle has made many attempts to explain why many Jews are against Zionism, against the establishment of the State of Israel in the first place on religious teachings, and see the Palestinian struggle against Israel therefore as justified. But I don't want to put words into his mouth in case I misstate his views.
