I've two very energetic doggies, two very energetic kids and their pals... The lawn needs to be in top shape to last.. I killed it with too many back yard projects and just reseeded this spring...

Actually in the front I matched my neighbour on a 30 by 20 strip contiguous with one of the same size on his side by planting creeping bent grass... just like a golf green... it needs lots of water.. and is great for putting :o) I yanked the remainder of the grass from the front yard and expanded my mainly perennial garden plus some veggies... No more mowing there... In the back I am trying Buffalo grass as an experiment.. Does not grow too high and very drought resistant... Very expensive though so I'm trying a small area only... The goal is low maintenance... hence the sprinklers.. I'm no Hank Hill lawn maniac ;o) but doing some up front work and deviating from the mainstream Bluegrass crowd may buy me some relaxation time :o)
