Particularly what appears to be two different POV's at the same time:-)

Only one POV, that regime change as a means to end terrorism is a dysfunctional myth. In fact, it is more likely to promote more terrorism worldwide since terrorists can come from dozens of countries, not just one or two.

Ergo, invading Iraq now or before did not stop terrorism, it created more. Invading Iran would create more, and so on, assuming it is impossible for us to invade and control all possible source countries for terrorists.

And assuming that regime control is the key variable in determining a country's ability to produce terrorists. That in itself is problematic.

Since you put "ghost" in quotes, could you like the post in question? I always like to see if they say what people say they say.

Nuclear warheads in the wrong hands could certainly do a lot of damage, even if they didn't entirely eradicate western civilization.

Once again you nailed it!

I looked at a couple blogs a bit ago and was fascinated by the talking points which were to stress the failure of Bush policy in Iraq and to down play the threat of terrorism at home. The issue and discussion on the thread today is becoming more clear by the moment. LOL

But I don't think that terrorism is a "ghost", as has been posited by another poster.

As that other poster, I did not mean to imply that terrorists are ghostlike themselves.

I meant that they can't hurt us that badly themselves, but they can scare us badly enough that we will cause ourselves damage.
