With the price of new printers, get a new one. They are so cheap and the quality is good.

My last printer I bought was under 100 bucks, a good printer, Epson C86.

The money is in the ink these days, not the printers.

Isopropyl alcohol that you usually can buy at a drug store...if you can get it into those little tubes..let it sit overnight..add some more the next day then try the print clean procedure.

The new all in ones are getting cheaper, as low as $80 from Cannon or HP. I gave my HP855C to my daughter several years ago, bought a HP Photo Smart printer, and I am now in the market for a new all in one. Walgreens can do my limited photo printing faster, better, and no more expensively. They now also do ink cartridge refills in some stores so you don't have to mess with them. Nice.

Take a look at this PCWorld printer rating site.

Cheap all in one...doesn't fax. Gets mixed reviews on Amazon..those who like it like it a lot...those who don't :(

This one, Lexmark, is even cheaper..replacement cartridges are usually expensive.
