According to what I read it was the best chance in 40 years to do it, and the Democrats defeated a Democratic Bill to bring health care to the poor, the elderly, the sick and the homeless. They had the numbers to pass the bill. There were enough Democratic votes to make health care the law in the United States, regardless of any advertising or anything else. The Democrats decided the American people didn't deserve to have a National Healthcare Plan. And I can see from this board why. Because you all have an axe to grind, you don't discuss you rage and rant and call people names. There is lots of stuff I don't know. But I do know that that isn't how people win in politics. You win in politics by being the Better man, by being noticably better than your opponent, not more angry or more upset, but calmer and more decisive and willing to give the people what they need and what they want. When I was young I hung around with one of Barry Goldwaters organizers, my parents worked the campaigns of the man who became Speaker of the House for Canada's house of Parliament. This is supposed to be fun, to argue and agree or disagree, but I notice that Democrats or Liberals always want to silence th opposition, instead of finding the weak spots in their opponents arguments and their own. No wonder the Democrats got booted in 1994. Even in the election in 5 weeks you don't have any positive points in your platform, simply rage and whining like children about things no adult would think important. Foley is going to beat you.
