tell me how much clinton gutted the military...
Clinton certainly cut back on the military, that's true. But let me ask you this. Why is it necessary for the US to outspend every other nation on the earth combined? I'll tell you why. Because we feel the need to be the world's policeman and we fight wars for oil. Get us off the oil and stop us from meddling in every nation's affairs and we won't be targets for every lunatic out there AND we won't have to spend but half of the $500B a year we spend on the Pentagon and military combined.

tell me how democrats have slowed immigration...
I don't want immigration slowed. In fact, anyone who does, simply doesn't have a grasp of economics. We are a welfare state. Our social security system gives out more than it takes in (or will shortly) and it will only get worse as more Baby Boomers retire. Then kick in Health Care costs to boot. Then on top of all that our population growth is not fast enough to keep our economy growing at the pace it needs to in order to support the greying of America, as well as the growth in the national debt, thanks to Bush. The only way out of this is to allow more immigrants legally into America to continue to grow our population base to support our welfare economy. We don't have to be stupid about who we let in, but we certainly DO have to grow immigration, since we are not breeding fast enough to support this bloated country.

tell me how democrats kept us safe from terrorists...
Democrats like Al Gore are smarter than Bush. Bush is only using his left hand in a boxing match that requires that the US uses its left hand, right hand, foot work, and mind tricks. How would Democrats keep America safe? In the smartest way possible, by depriving them of funding through programs designed to get us off the oil in 15 years or less and push oil prices back down to $20. Friedman has a rule of thumb that he calls the "First Law of Petro-Prices": as the price of oil increases, so too does the number and intensity of authoritarian regimes. The # 1 thing this country can do to safegaurd its people is to GET OFF THE OIL and get our noses out of everyone else's business. If the Iraqis don't believe in freedom enough to die for it, then why the hell are we still there. I want our children to come home. They are dying in Iraq for nothing.

tell me how Carter and CLinton's plan for NK worked so well...
It didn't. If it were me, I would have never allowed NK to get nuclear technology from us. If we had never gone to the negotiating table in the first place, then they wouldn't be expecting us to be there now. If it were me, I'd pull our troops off the border in South Korea and bring them home. South Korea can pay for its own protection. The only country in that region that has the leverage to stop NK is China. So let's let them do their job. The only obligation we have out there is to guarantee SK and Japan a nuclear umbrella, but we do not have to guarantee their freedom with the lives of our troops. They need to use their own.

all talk from the dems and you're buying it...
I'm not partisan at all. I will vote for the best candidate period. Right now, the only person talking about getting us off the oil is Al Gore. The rest, including Dems and Reps, have their thumbs up their a$$e$ talking about all sorts of issues that MAKE NO DIFFERENCE.

BTW, I know what has you scared and it's not terrorists. It's that people like me that used to be Republicans and used to defend Bush, who are not longer associating themselves with these neo-cons. That means the Republicans stand a very good chance of losing both houses of Congress, as well as the White House in a couple years. That terrorizes you, doesn't it? But there is a silver lining. If you were honest with yourself, you'd recognize that these Republicans hold none of the values of the Republicans we grew up with . Fiscal discipline and small gov't? Not with Bush and Frist. Talk and walk softly, but carry a big stick? Not with Bush. Use diplomacy and strategic intelligence as your first weapon and war as a last resort? Not with Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. I could go on forever, but I'm tired of this crap.

Actually, Bush I did a lot of gutting before Clinton added his $.02......why don't you criticize him? Oh wait, he's a Republican. Never mind.

BTW Hillary will probably eliminate the military completely. I bet that prospect scares the bejezus out of you. Think of all those Muslims with big machetes swarming through the US looking for heads to chop off!
