The man I'm referring to is a close cousin of the murdered family and a good, long time friend of mine. I firmly believe that some people are just like rabid animals and should be treated as such. I LOVE animals, but if I see a rabid dog in my yard I consider it my duty to shoot it. I guess I could say "I don't shoot animals" or call animal control but, if it bites a neighbors kid before it's put down, I would never be able to convince myself that it's not my fault.

I think most of us are only two degrees away from something like that. That is, we know somebody who knows somebody who was murdered.

I guess I'm one degree of separation from someone that was murdered. My sister's friend's husband was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11. I didn't know him very well but I had met him a couple of times.

Other than that person I can't think of anyone I know of, that is known by someone I know, and then was murdered but when you think of all the people you get to know at least a little bit, and then all of the people they know, your probably right.
