Thanks. But I've seen the quotes (and don't really want a video clip) I was looking for a full transcript (to get the full context).

I think most likely Kerry meant to say something about Bush, but his statement but intending to say something isn't the same as saying it. Earlier statements in the speech might have been about Bush (which is why I was looking for a transcript) but even if so that might not be all that significant to my point.

If I starting saying "Mary is an idiot. She thinks stop signs with white borders are optional. She spent hours trying to put M+Ms into alphabetical order. She cheered when it too her only 6 months to finish a simple puzzle because the box said "4 to 6 years". God Bob's an idiot".

If I then apologize to Bob than he shouldn't have any hard feelings (except perhaps about me being mean to Mary, but Bush as a politician is relatively open game for insults and also I doubt any of Kerry's comments where quite that derogatory to Bush). If Kerry apologizes to the soldiers for his misstatement, even now after some time as passed, the issue should probably die away. But as far as I can tell Kerry has made no such apology. If I'm wrong, and he has apologized, please correct my misunderstanding.

I'm sure Kerry messed up the intended message. I think he is finito on the campaign trail anyway. It would be a miracle if he could recover as a spokesperson of any credence. Same with Tom Cruise.

whatever one may think about Kerry's remark, I think the dems will be very lucky if this keeps Kerry from trying for another run at the nomination. He is a loser. And even though you may not agree with the broughhaha, I think it's really quite a lucky break for the Dems. They get to dump on Kerry AND come out in support of the military, all at the same time :-) win win
