A very good friend of mine was born in Harlingen Texas. She said that as far back as she can remember (50+ years) they have always had signs in Spanish as well as English. Nothing now over there, it's just creeping it's way up and out.

Spanish was a requirement in school back when she was a kid.

First, the immigrants have be LEGAL immigrants....not come in the backdoor ILLEGALLY. If people come in breaking our laws, most probably that will continue with them.

I have no problem with LEGAL immigrants coming her, and blending into the population already here. They can learn English, learn the ways of this country, and become productive citizens. Most Mexicans I've met over the years are nice people.

I believe that our Country has the right to choose who comes in and who does not. We need to have some talented and bright people, who may already have an education and who want to become productive citizens. We have too many people here already who want to become sponges on the citizens who already work hard and pay taxes to support so many others other than just themselves.

We don't need people who come here just wanting the benefits of this country, and who have no intention of becoming citizens.

At least they are starting at the bottom and working their way up, unlike the Pakistanis and East Indians that are moving here and taking the jobs we're putting our kids through college to get.

If they have jobs that require skills and education, that means they are contributing to the economy. They are providing services that are in demand. If someone already has the skills why should they have to start at the bottom again?
