That's true. In fact nobody knows the answer to that. Just as nobody knows how many benefits will accrue from a warmer globe in the future (if that warming does indeed occur). Greater crop yields? More benign winters? The problem with Gore's movie is that he take the most extreme global warming scenarios and postulates that outcome as a fait accompli. It's Hollywood and not science.then why do you believe that "...solutions to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels..." are not being sufficiently pursued? If one believes that increased CO2 levels are, and will be, a detriment to the climate (and I, for one, am not convinced), then realistic means of reducing said levels, without destroying the worlds economy by shutting down carbon based energy sources, should be a top priority. If atmospheric CO2 capture and sequestration can be accomplished with an increased cost of around 20 to 25 cents per gallon (5 cents per liter) in gasoline (as proposed in that link), then lets do it. Pull out the excess CO2 and then let mother nature do as she will with the climate.I believe that people are for more concerned about their political beliefs and agenda The whole damn global warming thing has been so thoroughly politicized that objective science has been relegated to the trash can... BTW, my portfolio is heavily laced with OS majors and I'll be doing some aggressive call buying in a day or two, if this rout continues. I think that it's more likely than not that with current supply and demand in rough equilibrium, there will be some kind of major disruption in the not too distant future..
