It is going to happen - we shall see what the results will be.

BTW - anyone think the recent fall in oil is not part of economic warfare on Iran? Falling oil will defund the sobs and fully reveal their inability to govern.

If there are 20,000 or 30,000 troops available, they might as well help in Iraq.

The idea that more troops will just make more targets is daft. More troops will also SELECT more targets, and I bet the opposition does NOT like the idea of that. More troops means fewer interstices for the opposition to hide in.

If more troops will just make more targets, then the implication is that the troops are being defeated, and that the number of troops there now is too many, and that fewer would mean fewer targets, and that they should sound the retreat, and admit defeat [calling it victory if they like, the same as Saddam did after retreating from Kuwai].

The main problem is presumably who to support. Should it be Shiite murderers on behalf of Sadr and the Iranian Islamic Jihadists, or Sunni murderers, who the USA has gone to great efforts to overthrow.

Will a "Clear and hold" of Baghdad help long term?

No!
We already proved that once.

We can shoot a few more leaves off the tree of terrorism, but the tree will replace them unless we dig out the roots.

If we clear and hold Sacramento do we own california?

"America needs a bad ass."

"The speech and it's delivery are secondary. What counts is what we will do in Iraq. "

That's right. Bush has made a career of letting his actions do the talking. The quieter he gets, the more you'd better watch out.

Let the ass-kicking begin.
