I personally never liked Guiliani, but I saw him on Larry King last night and I now think that he will make a more formidable candidate for the Repubs than McCain.

I wouldn't bet that a Guiliani nomination would be a cakewalk for Democrats.

For one thing, he would take NY and NJ out of the Democratic column and put these states into play. Second, he's making nice to the right wing, saying he would appoint "conservative judges" and that rural areas are "different" than NYC when it comes to gun control needs. Even Rush Limbaugh is warming up to him. Third, the right is not going to stay home and let Hillary waltz into the White House - they'd vote for the devil before Hillary.

I wouldn't underestimate Guiliani, he's a seasoned political pro. The man talked the pants off.. what.. three women.
No shortage of political trickery up his sleeve. If he gets the nomination he would run right down the middle trying to pick up soccer moms and NASCAR dads all over again. Bible thumpers would not be happy. Plus some of the Democrats are more than likely to shoot themselves in the foot along the way. Already starting.
It would be something if its two from NYC - Hillary and Rudy, wouldn't it...
Would really add to their center of the earth syndrome there :)
