If the listed prices are accurate they will be devastating to AMD if dual-core K10 roughly equals C2D in overall performance. The 3GHz E6850 will only cost $266. The 2.4GHz quad-core Q6600 will also drop to $266. The 2.67GHz E6750 is only $183, and the 2.33GHz E6650 is $163.

It will not exactly be a picnic for Intel either...

This is old news: Hiroshige Goto reported these price
reductions as a result of the Q3 introduction of the
QC and DC K10's already at the end of Januari.

The question is now who will be hurt most by the Osborne
effect this time.... I guess it's mostly affecting the
potential buyers of high end Conroe systems which are
more likely to wait now.

This is a good clue about the performance and availability of the 45nm Penryn parts at the time that these price cuts take effect.
