If there is no war/terror underway all things are possible. From the creation of the jewish state, all the israelis were looking to do was to be a friendly neighbor to the arab states. If the arab/israeli border becomes like US/Canada all the problems to reach settlement go away. Right of return becomes symbolic, settlements with biblical explanations go away or at least traded for other land to balance things. Religious control of holy sites aint no big deal. E. Jerusalem is something the israeli really dont want to give back but would if it were the type of real peace outlined above. Real problem is that israel is being asked to give all this up on a promise by folks who have been unable to control the crazies. If it were your family what would you do?

From what I saw of it regarding East Jerusalem, holy sites, and WB settlements, I would have turned it down as well.

About six months into 2001, the Pals realized how much damage they had done to themselves and began badmouthing the deal, spewing all kinds of nonsense about Bantustans and the like. Dennis Ross and Clinton tried to set the record straight, but people are always ready to believe the Pals, even though the Pals have a clear track record of saying absolutely anything they think will benefit the Cause at the moment.

The current Saudi plan is based on doing just that, at least at the governmental level. True, it might not filter down to the Arab street accepting Israel.

BS. It is a "piece by piece" deal for destroying Israel with Arab immigration. The minute Arabs take over the state, the Jews will be thrown out, exactly as they have been thrown out of the rest of the Middle East. BTW, ask any Arab Christians you meat how well the Christians are doing in Arab countries.

Really? I was under the impression that the final boundary negotiations weren't really ever agreed upon before the whole thing blew up. Donno, at that time I was in SF attending website launch parties with free Coronas and free food 4-5 nights a week, and not really paying attention to the world's "trouble zones".
