I didn't forget to mention the Khobar towers; I find it irrelevant to what I was talking about. Since I have no idea what your point is (that we were once attacked by Iran?), I'm not sure why you bring it up. I bring up Khobar Towers because Iran was behind it. There have been a number of such incidents, done either by Iran or by its proxy, Hezbullah. 1979 is not disconnected from today. Iran declared an end to peaceful relations and diplomatic norms when it seized our embassy; since then there has been a low grade state of tensions/war on both sides. Iran has staged a number of terror attacks on US soliders; the US backed Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war and kept Iran from winning it outright.
