I think it's hard to know what people would do in that situation. Luckily, it doesn't happen. Do you remember Sophie's Choice? The whole point of that movie is that in extraordinary times we will make horrible choices- when we feel we are forced to. But most of us are lucky never to be forced to. And I don't think any of us know how we would react- that's why we set the rules up front- to protect as many people as possible.

GOod grief, Elroy. It was an expression meant to communicate the unpredictable, extremely strong emotional reactions of a mother whose child is threatened.

The "crazy topic" was about how far we allow our privacy and our rights to be eroded, or if it even is erosion, and how do we make those determinations.

WOuld I stick needles in some stranger's eyes? I have no idea. The point is that I am not in favor of allowing me to make that decision in that moment, or allowing it to become the norm for acceptable behavior.

And I'm not really interested in whatever crazy topic you and Laz and Iktomi and Michael90210 are going on about.
Wee, you've butted in. Why, if you want no part of it?
