You're right. Society has allowed it. And to our peril, to say nothing of very high financial costs. All people who come to the US should be required to learn English.

They should keep their native language as well, but to speak English in school, on the job, etc...People who can use two or more languages should have access to higher paying jobs ...

There is not a single good reason for having our Government face the cost and expense of getting interpreters, etc in every language on earth.

What has changed is society. Now people seem to expect the responsibility to fall on every organization dealing with immigrants, instead of the family (or nationality community) bearing the responsibility to translate.

I think immigrants are responsible for becoming Americans, and if they don't want to do that then they should stay home. I'm all for multi-lingualism where English is the first language and others are the second. We should teach Americans kids another language, but I don't like the idea of accommodating every language in our packaging, money, telephones, TV and so forth.

It's America, dammit! We speak English here.

When BUSH came in he pretty much OPENED the borders so corporate America could have ALL the cheap workers they wanted.

NOW he wants to just let ALL of them stay and get a free pass.

And they say Bush ISN'T a liberal...LOL
