I think that's the thing. New religions have more problems- and as J. Chris says one of the biggest problems is that the history is easy to access, and there's no fudgeability factor because of that.

I think the Mormons have the same sorts of problem scientologists have.

Perhaps you have confused Romney with somebody else. He is an adherent to the articles of faith of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Could you expand on this. I admit i know little about this relgion. Only experience is when my friend took in his niece who was half mormon and had escaped. Guys with dark suits came to take her away. A bunch of upset jews and christians stopped that. Gal got a job and became independent but we always feared she would be wisked away in the night. Apparently they went back to utah.
