When you have a popular movement against authority, brute force alone never works.

Hmm.. not sure if your "vacuuming" analogy of defying existing authority is comparable to the attempts by militant muslims to IMPOSE authority (according to their religious proclivities).

Now if Steven Stills were dragging "anti-drug" advocates into the streets and shooting them in the head in order to impose his "everyone must get stone" philosophy, it would be more correct.
