You're right, not ironic, hypocritical. It is counterproductive for society to produce unwanted children and will only cause problems down the line. When I hear that argument I am just stunned at the arrogance. a. to think you can predict 80 years into the future the totality of a person's life and b. to take onto yourself the right to decide that that is not a life worth living. When I get over being stunned, I try to imagine what path a person takes to get to the position where he can think like that. Guess I'm just not empathetic enough because I can't.
