I was short 12.50 puts which I covered at a weighted average price of 30 cents after they hit $2.50 yesterday. I assumed the same as you - manipulation pure and simple. I have been quiet here licking my MNTA and AHM and IMB wounds even though 5 other trades went well. Too slow to cut losses.

What about this last manipulation. Straight line chart from 1 pm or so to the close in high 11s and market on close takes it briefly to 12.80 or so. All those long the calls are going to suddenly be long shares they do not want on Monday open and if it re-opens in high 11s, ouch! All those long the puts lose out too unless they manually exercised. And those who paid too much to buy back like me? I did the same thing in JCP too to buy back some 75 calls - ugghhh!

Re: AHM and Hedge Fund manipulation

Jerome: Taking advantage of the alledged hedge funds' manipulation on AHM, I would suggest the following options strategy:

Buy the DEC AHM 12.50 put and sell the DEC AHM 20 put for $5.25 credit.

Max loss = $2.25

Max gain = $7.50

Upper breakeven: $27.50

Lower breakeven = $14.75

Profitability range = $14.75 to $27.50

The limited risk feature and the wide range of profitability are the main attractions of this strategy.
