My land lord is an American of Iranian origin. the car dealer I bought my car from is an American of Iranian origin.

In both cases - I just had to give my name - they just asked 'are you of indian origin'. I say yes. they say - we have a deal. no further discussion.

We must talk PAST the current regime in Tehran and form our relationships with the Iranian people.

It takes 2 to Tango. So far the count is zero.

But we have that relationship with the Iranian people since many of them moved here to the US and retain significant family ties to Iran.

Not much we can do about it, but we shouldn't forget or be quiet about the several Iranian-Americans the regime has imprisoned recently. They're American hostages just as the diplomats taken back when the shah fell were.

I'm not big on invading Iran.. I want them to become sufficiently disgusted that they do the same thing the religious fanatics did to the Shah. This is how democracy should evolve.. the people rising up to overthrow tyranny based upon their own desires.. not those of foreigners.

I'm dead set against invading. Aiding opposition parties would be ok, I suppose. As for the nuclear issue, if a decision were made force was necessary, an invasion wouldn't be needed, only a short air campaign.
