Enough said. The ability of Israel to eradicate its neighbors, makes it an unchecked power in the region.

That's ridiculous.. The US has the ability to eradicate its' neighbors.. Does that make us an unchecked power? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! We would invite the condemnation of the entire world were we to eradicate our enemies with nukes.

And the same standard applies to Israel.

The only unchecked power that exists is a totalitarian regime that believes it requires nuclear weapons from behind which it will shield its aggression.

And this is EXACTLY what Iran's religious militant regime desires. But nuclear weapons will not save their revolution from the opposition mounting from inside it's own country.

Yes you are correct, however, nothing happens in ME without a superpower OK. The Syrian deal is: Lebanon for Golan or until Syria served its purpose.

Wait.. now you're telling us you WANT the US to meddle in Mid-East politics?

Yes, the US good intentions are implemented in wrong way.

Pray tell.. what would be the "right way" to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty against Syrian and Iranian domination?

I do not think that the Lebanese share the same feelings. They feel that were and are pawns in the superpowers' game.

Which superpower? Recall that the PLO was HEAVILY supported by the Soviets. So heavily supported the Russians built a large stash of ordnance in Lebanon during the early late '70s, early '80s.

mfa.gov.il

"The real problem is for nearly seven years the country was taken over by a Syrian occupation army and by the terrorists of the P.L.O., whom the Soviet Union.. Syria and Libya provided with ammunition and weapons. I want to tell you that we ourselves were taken by surprise. We disclose now the amounts of Russian weapons and ammunition, which will take us six weeks to take out from Lebanon if we use ten big Mack trucks working day and night.

Yesterday we discovered suddenly a store of weapons around Sidon. It will take 500 trucks to transfer that ammunition to Israel. Lebanon became a Soviet base for the whole of the Middle east. We undertook the operation, "Peace for Galilee,' for our own self-defense. But indirectly we did a great service to the Free World. It was a great danger to other countries in the Middle East."

Btw, some of those weapons were American made, having been illegally provided by the Saudis to the PLO, without US consent.

So you tell me which superpowers were MOST intent on destroying Lebanese sovereignty..

And tell me where Hizbullah is getting all of those Soviet rockets and ammunition?

It isn't from the US.

The US gave Iraq huge line of credit to be able to buy so called agricultural equipments. Do you recall Oliver North and the Contra Affair. Things can be authorized with creative bookkeeping in mind.

I recall that VERY well.. but we DID NOT supply weapons as the result of any official policy of the US.

Certainly we had a vested interest in insuring that Iran did not win that war, just as we have a CURRENT vested interest in preventing Iran from dominating Iraq today.

Btw, Oliver North and the Contra affair was supplying weapons TO IRAN.. Not Iraq..

Explain how that ties into your conspiracy theory that we armed Saddam..

What you are referring to is the BCCI affair.
