When Texas crashed in the mid-80's due to cheap oil, nobody else cared because they got cheap oil and Texans were too damned arrogant anyway.

Given the mellow, modest nature of the NY Wall Street crowd, no one will mind much if they hear a lot of squealing and crying from the Cramers of the world.

The problem is that the market gridlock resulting from the quant games will have consequences for the rest of us. Which will not endear the New Yorkers to the rest of the country either.
