I'm sure you'll find something to occupy your time. Just look at the courses offered at your nearest college and go for a few that really interest you.

My friend took the navigation course because they go out on the boat a lot and because her husband had a pretty bad heart attack a few yrs back. She thought it would be a good idea to know how to get back to shore in case of an emergency. That whole idea has blossomed into something else, and she admits it is something that she would never have thought of before the heart attack.

And I know what you mean about a nose for direction. I just got back from a Chanterelle hunt, and had to go so deep into the woods this time that it took me quite a while and much brush whacking to get back to the known trail. Finally found it by following my nose.

;)

BTW we'll be having Chanterells And Prawns In Cream over spiral pasta tonight.

<<One criterion for any place that I move to is a good public library nearby. >>

The town I live close to has a good library but it was for town people only. Then they expanded to county wide and the tax, it wasn't a choice to belong or not, was set at $60 a year never to go up, set in stone. The stone crumbled and it now costs me $180 a year.

One criterion for any place that I move to is a good public library nearby.

Something to be aware of is that colleges and university libraries usually have "Friends of the xxxx Library" organizations. Make an annual contribution and as a friend of the library you have library privileges.

Not to mention such institutions usually have plenty of college age women walking around.
