Yep, the year before CSCO made a nice run, and actually did well till that infamous conference call. In view of the financial mess the market has held up relatively well, but the Case/Schiller index out yesterday showed housing quickly getting much worse (in terms of price declines - Eric - even Seattle has rising inventories from what I read!), and I am hearing more noise about commercial real estate and credit card debt, so I hope things don't blow up in a bigger way in 2008. Looks like XMAS was a bust for everyone except AAPL!

Best regards,
John

Every week the numbers get bigger. I read a piece today that Goldman is estimating that C alone is going to write off an additonal 18.7B in the fourth quarter, along with an additional 11.5B for MER. And this subprime foreclosure thing still has years to run!

John
