A side question, do you suppose the reason why Democrat leadership does not want to see the insurance market get better is because it would make selling Socialized Medicine more difficult?

I suspect that they think that improvements in the insurance market solving their problem, which they have defined as the inequality of insurance benefits. No matter how much the insurance market improves, their constituency will not be able to afford equal health care. The only way for the poor to get the same treatment as the rich is a socialized system. So trying to improve insurance would be a waste of their energy.

You've stated a false premise....a typical strawman argument....why do you use such propaganda techniques?

All the leading dem candidates are on record as favoring using the private insurance market to reach some kind of 'universal coverage'.

No one has proposed a single-payer policy.
