The difference, and I think it's an important one, is that Obama has categorically denounced Farrakhan.

And one more difference. McCain sought out Hagee's endorsement; flew, I think, to San Antonio to appear with the guy. By contrast, Farrakhan's endorsement of Obama was unsolicited and certainly not welcome.

Lord Allen, he sure had a hard time coming to that position. It was funny to watch. All in all he did recover nicely.

As for McCain - I am on the record of having no one to vote FOR. I may only have someone to vote AGAINST. A very disgusting situation.

Bob

Obama has categorically denounced Farrakhan.
Not only that, he rejected him!

You know, my initial reaction to the Hagee thing was to wonder why people connect the beliefs of extremists to a candidate who happens to be the one they feel most connected to. I was all set to defend McCain.

But not knowing much about Hagee, I looked it up, and not only did McCain actively solicit the his support, he staged a joint appearance with Magee to announce the endorsement.

What makes it even worse is that McCain isn't in a close race in which he desperately needs every vote in Texas to get the nomination- which wouldn't excuse it, but make it a tad more understandable.

Cogito - I think Barack has some work to do re the positions of his pastor. Perhaps the pastor has not endorsed Obama - but by belonging - has Barack endorsed the pastor?
