It doesn't look like it. China is gung ho right now, with most people [though not all of course though those who disagree keep a low profile as it's illegal to disagree] trending towards hubris and nationalism rather than civil strife. Look at the rabid and racist nature of those appearing here; Yiwu the Mad etc.

i think the american leadership is not afraid of its own people
and that is the genuine nature of the true problem

government should (by my book, must) be afraid of the electorates, whether they vote by ballot or can potentially 'vote' by other means that may prove more thoroughly cleansing

i do not wish to be ruled by any officialdom who caters to me

i want to be ruled by an officialdom that is terrified of me

here in hk, the officialdom is terrified of one thing really, that at the press of a few buttons, capital leaves, and the civil service compensation adjust dramatically to world standard level, as in sharply down

fear is healthy, respect will follow, and happiness will tag along
