What I meant by that response to Tim was that people by now have determined where they are putting the Wright situation in their Obama schema by this point.

That's probably true for people who have been paying close attention (like people who post to Politics for Pros).

It's probably not true for the vast majority of people, who are busy with their lives, and for whom the repetition is necessary just to make them aware of the story.

Not so sure about that Rambi….Maybe on PfP, but not entirely even here. From the day that Obama started his race, many of us were impressed on the new, young, and talented kid on the political block, who BTW, happened to be black. . He’s attractive, speaks well, undoubtedly has a good speech writer, wife looks good, etc.

BUT then, SHE started to speak….and most of us scowled…not at her, but what she was saying. It seems like we were hearing something that was schizophrenic….She looks the part, seemed to act the part, but then her choice of words and the mean spirited, race biased, venom poured out….I know it stunned me , and probably did everyone else as well.

We began to take another look at Obama. If you had read my earlier posts, you would know I was disappointed in him, and really at myself for believing that maybe this guy was for “real.”. I had wanted a sharp younger person to perhaps bring some new ideas to put before the tainted and old House and Senate (Kennedy, Durbin, Byrd, Gore, McDermott, Kerry,) and various other nabobs of negativity….

BUT then, I and we started to do some research on his own website….I commented on that at the time. Here was a younger person, who had no grounding in what had happened during WWI and WWII, to say nothing of the Korean War, Vietnam or much of anything else. He either wasn’t born yet, or was a very young, and as we know now, a troubled young man. One doesn’t kick back and do drugs and alcohol in HS and brag about it if they weren’t troubled.

When ABC first broke the Rev Wright fiasco, I still now thought there might be some hope for him as a contender for the Dems, but he had to make the US citizens aware of what was wrong and why. Trouble is, Obama himself didn’t want to admit even to himself that it was he, himself that was wrong. He was so enamored of Wright was a mentor, friend, and spiritual leader, that Obama must have thought that since so many people already liked him and supported him, that he could baffle the rest of us with enough BS that it wouldn’t matter. Now we see that Wright by his OWN words had been this way all the way along….his speech at the Press Club seemed to gel and confirm that understanding.

Heck, Hillary now looks better than Obama does as far as a candidate is concerned, but the many of the voters are so willfully naïve or truly believe that the Socialism/Marxism/Fascism playing field is better than the Democracy in a Republic that we are so fortunate to have as the basis of our current America.

I would say most of us here aren’t really in “love” with John McCain, but considering what we now have realized about the “new refreshing” Obama, and the three-termer Hillary of Shrieker fame, we are trying to realize these are the cards that have been dealt for us. I personally feel sad….can’t support either Obama nor Hillary if I still want to have a country left, and now am forced to support McCain, even if it is under protest.

Those who aren't sure have placed it somewhere along their list of traits to be considered

Rambi, I disagree. Here's why?

I think most people who are likely to vote are constantly examining and re-examining whether to vote for this person or that person. Of course, there are the die-hards in all camps who work for candidates and go on shows and so forth that will never change their mind. However, the vast majority of Americans don't fall into that camp. Especially, in the case of Obama. A relatively unknown person who came out of seemingly know where.

Most people don't follow politics day to day. They catch a sound-bite here or there and maybe read an article or two from time to time. So steady criticism works to move them one way or the other when it comes to voting. After all, why would candidates spend millions on television commercials if that were not true?

When the Wright controversy first surfaced, his dug in supporters and many in the media offered excuses after excuses for his support for that church, which is support for Reverend Wright. Now, some of them are re-examining their position based on seeing him live today and basically hearing him say the same things. "America deserved 9/11 etc"...

And now they are wondering whether their initial impression was right. How could a person running for President sit listening to that anti-American garbage for so long?

It's a good question. And it will be continuously asked until the Presidential election. Will Obama attend the church after being elected? Will the man who claims inclusiveness is his highest calling divide the nation in such a way?

Good to see you writing Rambi!
