That is hard to predict but I would bet on his approvals being higher unless he invades Iran...

BTW, approval ratings and leadership are not always proportional...real leadership is often unpopular...

I have no idea what his ratings would be. Remember, if you just want high ratings your best bet is to do nothing and play "kick the can down the road" in foreign policy. That's what Bill Clinton did.

Tackling any of the tough challenges will be controversial and is guarranteed to lower your ratings, whatever your policy.

Does that make it the wrong thing to do?
