It is certainly true that the right has provided plenty of hyperbole. However the hyperbole of the left is often taken at face value by the national media and presented as fact while the right wing hyperbole gets generally ignored.

I agree that unfounded radical hyperbole gets us nowhere,

Which reminds me, I've started reading Lomborg's "Cool It." Pretty rational and sensible so far.
