I'm not quite sure why some of you act so shocked and surprised. Due to your extreme liberalism, I'm not surprised, either, to see you trying to blame Bush for it.

And every step of the way, Republicans have tried to stop the progress by providing oil companies with subsidies to preventing the raising of miles per gallon requirements on new cars.

You all are definitely part of the problem. And Bush epitomizes that blame.

Were you not aware of the upcoming "crisis" 10 years ago, 15, or 20? I certainly was, and I think most of us who were of age were, as well.

I remember distinctly during the Carter years sitting in rationing lines and realizing the looming problem. Do you not?

Yes I do, and it was an entirely different situation. It was completely political, not a supply demand issue. (And we were producing ~70% of our consumption compared to less than 40% today). Only in the last ~10 years have people, especially industry people, begun to recognize peak oil, and the vast majority, including you, don't grasp the implications.
