That's an interesting question.. Who knows.. Would oil still be high ? would the US still be looking for a safe and secure fuel source ? Oil pipelines face the risk of prices dropping again ... The subsidies have not addressed the pipeline issues as you indirectly noted... Fat rebates on more fuel efficient cars / hybrids would probably be money better spent... You save money and pollute less irrespective of fuel pricing... Edit: This is interesting ethanolproducer.com
