88% is pretty tight. One fire and we're into shortage territory. And takes 25 years to get through the regulatory and litigation hurtles we have errected to get one built so it's not too soon to start the process.

I think they meant to say we don't want to be dependent on imported petroleum products whether they are crude or refined.

The point is not to be dependent on others period, not to only remove the crude portion and leave the refining to others.

Ted Koppel had this TV program on China, where North Carolina grows Cotton, they ship it to Chung Ching, where it is turned into nice fabric, which is shipped to North Carolina, where it is made into fine furniture by Ethan Allen, then it is shipped back to Chung Ching for final use in a CEO's wife fine apartment who also shops at the WalMart in Chung Ching and her husband enjoys singing Karaoke Bars with nice young girls from the countryside and sometimes Russian girls if he is really well off.

Are you saying we should Drill Offshore North Carolina, ship it to Asia to be refined then ship back to USA as oil products, just because of some stigma associated with the word "CRUDE"?

That's all the Dem's arguments. And they don't hold up. McCain can bury Obama with Gas if he plays it smart.
