He is also giving the rightwing a heartburn but the heartburn that McCain is giving them is more than Obama's. This is an election where the fight will be for the center and Obama knows very well that he cannot win with the votes of the left alone; look at Joe Lieberman. Not only did Lieberman win but he is now campaigning with the "left's enemy"

Today in Amman, Obama made it very clear that he is the C-in-C and that he will be incharge of the US military where he will listen to the Generals , but he would be the one to lay policy for his generals. THis is very much unlike Bush/McCain who have said all along that he will listen to his generals and let them decide on the withdrawl. I wouldn't want my President to play second fiddle to the military.

Obama is a bloody smart guy. I rather have an elite than a cowboy as my President.
