nice post(s). USD 76. Look at the big picture. It's all about trying to confuse the shorts and incite a panic. Obama is gonna win. Bush screaming 'sovereign nation' while he plays beach volleyball. oil speculators take the gloves off. It's a sick morass.

greg

i do not think it is such a surprise that the USD has staged a move from the trenches.......

keeping it simple - the until recently runaway price of commods, persistent inflation, and a presidential election whereby a great majority of the public is clamoring for another pin cushion are all wonderful opps for the USD to have a stealth move.

this "orchestrated" event has given, IMO, a wonderful ST/IT opp in the metal-energy complex as we head into the fall.

keep the posts coming - i enjoy reading the material - as i do most of the regulars on this most informative board.

best
joe

There are all sorts of crazy things going on, but it's not much help for an investor if the craziness is going against him.

A lot of people really do not care to be presented with facts. At this time there is a controversy between the Democratic and Republican candidates for governor in North Carolina, as to whether drilling for oil and natural gas offshore is a good idea.

Not one single commercially productive hydrocarbon well has ever been drilled anywhere in North Carolina (except in landfills <g>). The geology of the continental shelf offshore is such that oil and gas could not be trapped, so any that has come out of the sediments has simply escaped into the ocean. Is there any place in the world where offshore drilling is NOT preceded by onshore discoveries?

Anyway, the candidates are trying to score points in a debate over nonexistent oil and natural gas.
