Haim, wouldn't you believe the western world actually has more oil and gas than the eastern and Arab world combined ? If the Russians are well aware of their resources being drained out in order to power the whole Europe, they better feel worried and ready not supply the energy need anymore in order to save for their own people. If NATO wants to fight it out, I believe Russians will respond with more fierce fighting. So the Russian FM has asked whether you choose Russia or "Project Georgia".

Haim, are you kidding?

Your analogy does not apply for several reasons, the primary one is that in 1938 we did not have nuclear weapons!!

This is a huge difference today. We were willing to risk nuclear war rather than let Russia put missles in cuba. do you think they are different from us. Less determined to prevent a US threat in their backyard?

Bush has been poking Putin with a stick for quite awhile like his missle plan in eastern europe and his military support of georgia and the ukrain which is in Russia's shpere of influence

I am quite aware of the chamberlain analogy, that is used way too often and incorrectly.

Just exactly what do you think we should do????? And you trust bush to make the right decisions> When has he ever made the right decision.

He has us strung out in two wars, trashed our military on a brush fire (Irq), financially destroyed the US maybe leading to a depression and overlooked the real military dangers our country faces of Russia, China and Pakistan. Afghanistan and Iran are probably next in importance.

Iraq was about 35 on the list of important military dangers! yet that is where he decided to spend our money and military even as they have 80 billion in the bank. dumb! And he took his eye off the real dangers.

How would you handle it? Go to war with Russia?, because that is where your analogy leads us and would have been the alternative to chamberlain!!!!!!!!!

I am curious, you seem to feel you can see this situation, so give us your plan of action.

Regards

Their are similarities between 1930's Nazi Germany, and Russia today, but they only go so far.

I don't think Russia is likely to start extermination camps, or to invade Poland.
