stupid analysis as ive seen lately. bought and paid for that education did you?

wasted your money....

glen as you stated; However, I hardly view it as sinister. In fact, I'm much more prone to view it as ... well ... fair, to be honest.

lol... but I don't see the Russians threatening to put nuclear weapons in Venezuela or Cuba.

russia just threatened poland with nuclear strike because they chose defensive weapons to protect them from russian influence, which by the way, they tasted.....and now reject....what could be clearer than enlightened self interest derived from experience?

lol.... I'm absolutely disgusted at the greed, militarism, and lack of regard for basic humanity that is at present inflicted upon my world by those whose heritage I share.

the left has a record glen....why not stick to it?

dont reply your on ignore...

The culture and language barriers really makes this topic difficult, because very few really understand Americans, Russians, Georgians and the Europeans.

That's why diplomacy, international cooperation and international law was invented - these reference methods/models can develop over time, ensuring that everybody understands it well, so that you don't have to start from scratch every time a crisis occurs.

The Russians are currently perceived as dangerous, because most Russians only read Russian news, which is oppressed and doesn't show the full story, and the Russian government seems to make decisions based on this, disregarding international cooperation.

However, the Americans have a similar problem: Even though the U.S. press is free, Americans often incorrectly assume that they have a good overview. There are several reasons for this: the English language doesn't cover all concepts, the language, history and culture doesn't give the associations necessary to understand everything, and there is self-censorship in U.S. media, too. USA has recently involved itself into actions, that many countries consider a disregard of international cooperation.

Fortunately there are more than 2 sides in this conflict.

glenn, thanks for agreeing with me,

I would like to add that I am familiar with the region and visited there and have several projects that would have been implemented in the region (not in Georgia)now I question if any US entity will dear to invest in the region.

I am in business relation with many Russians who are very familiar with Putin regime and their code of conduct and privy to information that many are not.

There is no need for self blame about EU or US policies in the region and the recent moves of the Western Countries where done for good and substantiated reason which has not hit the news networks.

Russia was invited to the club of the G7 out of good will and courtesy to appease their feeling of inferiority and give them a bust - not on merits!!

The hope was that Russia would change its “spots” since the early Tsarist times and join the world nations in an effort of cooperation and mutual prosperity. India does it and I hope China will improve and be cooperative as it was recently

Georgia actions and the presumed reasons given, prove that the present regime of Putin who grew up close to Stalin household did not change their “spots”. Why the pilage and destruciton of infrastructure now in Gerogia by the Russian army? why lying with a straight face to everyone?

India China Brazil are much more qualified than Russia from an economic stand point and population stand point to join the G7 but they where not invited

Why Russia need "sphere of influence" and why so many in this world think so, is beyond me.

Russian "sphere of influence should be commensurate to its economic prowess and population and in this respect they lag each of the G7 including India and China and Brazil.

Does Brazil demands a "sphere of influence" ?
Does Italy demands "sphere of influence" ?
Does Germany demands "sphere of influence" ?
Does France demands "sphere of influence" ?
Does India demands "sphere of influence" ?
… and the list goes on

So please explain me why in heaven Russia with a 200 plus history of aggression, imperialistic expansion, occupation oppression and destruction of nations, (at least 30 to 40 millions under Stalin, Khrushchev and Brezhnev if by famine or gulags or plain execution) since Peter the Great, Russia deserves and demands "sphere of influence"?

Read how and what Russian have done to the small nations they conquered or annexed, read about Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan and the other many small nations east of the Ural mountains where to date Russia is pillaging their natural resources and amasses the wealth in Russia proper which is west of the Ural mountains north of the Caucasus Nations (Chechnya Dagestan etc.) and bordered by Ukraine Byelorussia and Baltic states etc.

You as many others are rewarding a cruel aggressor who destroyed nation and continue to do so, letting Russia amass riches from resources that do not belong to them.

I was borne and lived in Romania - Russia pillaged this country of their coal, oil, gold, grains and you name it, for years it attached wide swats of land like Bucovina and Moldova to Russia. Same with any other country they took over if under the USSR or installed puppet regimes like in the CEE countries

Ask any Romanian diplomat (privately) what they think of Russia!! And if you think any other nation if Poland, Czech, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, the Baltic’s and so on including the real Ukrainians are thinking differently then please let me know!!!

So please read more and get better informed and talk to people that lived under the Russian before blaming any one else of treating the Russian as a nation incorrectly or wrongly
