What an interesting perspective.

She seems like a marvelous person. She is a dazzling political performer.

I just don't see how we have evidence of these two claims. As I've said before, I saw Jane Byrne become Mayor of Chicago due entirely to being in the right place at the right time. She had some pretty high approval ratings for awhile, but they dove after a few years on the job. The same was true for Spiro Agnew--just looking at some superficial facts of his political rise to the vice presidency, you might think he was "a dazzling political performer." But it was also strictly a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Palin's ratings aren't still over 80%, as the Republicans have reported, they have dropped to the mid 60s and are falling. We saw her make one speech to a friendly audience.

Before we all applaud this woman, surely we ought to see her in action more and hear her actually talk about the issues.

I don't get the idea that your vp pick has to somehow complete you as a person. I mean who completed FDR? Did Nixon need Agnew? I would rather have a President who is the clear leader. I do not like a situation like Bush needing Cheney to help him run the govt.
