Rewarding, IMO, would be for Sarah Palin to turn down the opportunity to be VEEP in order to spare her daughter the embarrassment of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy.

Funny, I would have called that motherly love and responsibility to the family. With attached motherly guilt trip. <g>

Look, either you put your family first or you don't. If my daughter needed me (or my baby for goodness sake)- I would think to myself "These children are my first priority- they are only here because I chose to have them, everything else takes a back seat to my family." And what was good for my children would be what would be right for me.

Other people may see things differently, but as Rambi said, I don't have to approve. It's not about punishing mom. It's about moms really wanting to be moms, and taking responsibility for the children they have, and the children their children will have.

We are families, and families first take care of their own. I believe in family first, not country first. Without strong families, their can be no strong country.
