She was caught flat footed with the Bush Doctrine question.

A smarter answer for questions about foreign policy would be something like "As President I would have a VP, a cabinet and many other well informed advisors. As an executive it would be my job to take guidance from all these sources and make a decision."

Karen -

I think the Bush Doctrine applies to Iraq, but not to Afghanistan. The government of Afghanistan was openly harboring and assisting the criminals who planned an attack on us that was actually carried out. Thus, it wasn't exactly a pre-emptive invasion.
