RE:"Jim, you're making the mistake of trying to talk to Ted on his level."

I realize that. When you come down to his level he just pulls your arm off and beats you with it.

RE:"I for one hesitantly support a bailout, but only because I think it's better to engineer a soft landing"

Japan did the same thing in 1990 and lost an entire decade. Better to take the pain now and start over but that prolly won't happen.

Now I see France has come up with a european bailout plan. Germany is against a bailout.

Jim, you're making the mistake of trying to talk to Ted on his level.

JM's support for emotional absolutes do not qualify for your solidarity until he puts the rant aside and explains how HE would get us out of this mess in an orderly manner...until then your statement is bullshit...

>I for one hesitantly support a bailout, but only because I think it's better to engineer a soft landing.

Right. But there's nothing in this bailout that suggests "engineering." It's shock and awe finance. Nothing that's in the plan will prevent a mess like this from happening again in six months or a year. $700 billion is too much money for that.
