Knowing that the large urban areas are becoming the first colonized Euro type centers, people living in the western parts of the nation have a huge advantage. That is why we have seen, and will continue to see large shifts in population. The wealthy from dense populations buying up large tracts of land in states like Colo, Wa, Ore, Mont, Wy, Id, the Dakotas.

We know a place that is very close to basic Societal infrastructure, but is as remote and wild as can be. It is a cheap place to live, with all the amenities afforded a big city, but doesn't require one to pay the cost of supporting it. Sure........you have to drive 25 miles if you want to stock up on groceries or see a dentist or physician, but the alternative of living down the street from their offices in crowded conditions, and a more competitive and structured environment makes the drive well worth it. The people there are creative and as self sufficient as they can possibly be. People who look our for their neighbors and pretty much stay to themselves. They abhor the idea of big govt and are mavericks when it comes to taking care of themselves.

And the beauty is, there is a new 2 engine firehouse, cable tv and Internet connection.............if you're willing to pay that price.

Many of them were or are professionals with various degrees. But what they all have in common is a desire to be left alone by do good politicians with grandiose ideas.

If this new society we're talking about catches up with that place, there are places even wilder and more remote, yet easily accessible, that are perfectly capable of comfortably accommodating people who wish not to participate in the new order.

I think a lot of people are loading up the wagon for the inevitable shift coming their way.

Fleeing the coming socialist gulag is going to be a very competitive endeavor imo.

we are heading toward..

Glen Beck gave Ted Nugent a full hour, He's considerably more that a deer slaying rock star, promotes the virtuous values and attracts those with similar viewpoints. Maybe just blowing smoke, but he claimed there's tremendous disgust bubbling just sub-surface that could translate to something else.

Doubt we'd ever follow Tommy Jefferson's admonition, but fun to ponder.

Are you thinking of the ancient city states, or the new ones like London, Washington DC, etc...?

Thinking about this, it may be the underneath cause of the unease most of us are feeling...

When does socialism become communism?
