If Canada would go on a gold standard, within a few years you could buy up whatever you wanted in the United States. The Canadian dollar would be worth $5.00 in USD. A million Canadians could own houses in Florida and fly down there for the month of December every year in American-made airliners that would carry up to 1,000 passengers to Miami from Montreal in three hours.

Meanwhile, I just sit on my recently doubled COS.UN position and wait for crude to rise again. Having been caught in traffic jams on Interstate highways a few days ago, I can assure you that gasoline consumption is as high as ever, despite reports of surpluses.

Curious....has unemployment bumped up in Alberta yet, with all the project cancellations? Sub 50 buck oil has GOT to be causing some real pain there I'd think......
