I trust you're taking omega 3 and niacin
to raise your HDL?

I like the letter and may use it. <gg>

I am concerned about the abuse to my liver
and kidneys from all the meds, so I'll
put their feet to fire on this.

Thanks guys.

LB,

I don't recall you posting this comparison, but I can tell you that you have made a great deal of progress. Not knowing your LDL particle info, triglycerides (and ratio of triglycerides to HDL) are the best proxy from the info at hand to well being in general, and also of inflammation.

I can look up the figures (the guidelines) that Dr. Sears suggests, so I don't know where you are in absolute terms, but in relative terms, you made great deal of progress in those 6 months, just by looking at the Triglycerides.

Going from memory, Sears talks about 3 tests, being markers of inflammation, and I believe this is the order from best to second best and third best:
EPA/AA ratio (EPA being the best of Omega3, AA the worst of Omega 6)
C-Reactive Protein
HDL/Triglyceride ratio

All 3 are predicitive of inflammation, and you are certainly moving in the right direction.

Joe
