Too bad there isn't a stockholders meeting until next June or July. It would be fun if it was now -- I bet they'd have guards with submachine guns.

I wrote to that e-mail address Shane posted & never received a response. All I want to know is why the second S-3 was released now if the pfd isn't convertible until mid-March through May, 1998. I guess they can't answer, because (a) if the pfd is convertible now through the early-conversion clause, it means they've withheld valuable information from the public, or (b) if the S-3 was released early for no reason, it means through their incompetence they helped to bring on this plunge.

I'm going to write to every lawyer doing a class action lawsuit, and ask them to ask that question when they do their depositions.

(I even wrote to Investor Relations at CNA, since their subsidiary, Continental Casualty, owns 1,000 of the second tranche of pfd stock. I also asked them if they had any comments, and if the early conversion has kicked in, but didn't get a response.)

Sankar, I think Price said something to the effect that what he had left was too cheap to deal with or worry about. He wasn't worried about the affect on his mutual funds.
